Region Glen Elgin is an unusually distinctive Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, from a little known traditional distillery.
Appearance Full gold.
Body Smooth to medium body with a pleasant mouthfeel.
Nose Sweet. Almonds, or maybe marzipan. Some orange juice. Perhaps a trace of sawn wood.
Palate Sweetish, then dryish, with some acidity between; all well balanced.
Finish Dryish, balanced finish.

A combination of long, slow ferments, and distillation coupled with worm tubs gives a ludicrously fruity spirit, which here is bulging with ripe peach, apricot, and Galia melon coated in cinnamon and nutmeg, given thick weight by the worm tubs. A classic.
