Effortless, elegant, the generous spirit, Cardhu whisky flows like the conversation of excellent company. These smooth, sweet, mellow characters, drawn from the peat-softened waters of the Mannoch Hills, are the essential companion of any vivacious host.

Cardhu 16 Year Old is the third release from the ‘Four Corners of Scotland Collection’. This limited-edition series of Single Malts commemorates the transformation of the brand homes of Glenkinchie, Cardhu, Caol Ila, and Clynelish. The four distilleries represent the four corners of Scotland. Each of the Four Corners of Scotland collection beautifully shows the classic aromas and tastes of one special region. This collection is exclusively available online at Malts.com.
This special strength 16-year-old release from selected casks is made to commemorate the transformation of the home of Cardhu malt whisky in 2021 located Speyside, Scotland.
Cardhu has long been at the heart of Johnnie Walker whiskies. In 1893 it was the very first distillery to be brought into the Johnnie Walker family. It still displays the classic smooth Speyside character that John Walker & Sons valued so highly then.

Region For many, the classic Speyside malt whisky.
Appearance Golden honey.
Body Soft, pleasing and medium bodied.
Nose Heady, with pear drops, heather, resin and sweet honey-nut notes.
Palate Well balanced, smooth mouthfeel; sweet and fresh, then drying.
Finish Lingering sweet smoke in the attractive, drying aftertaste.

Insights from some of the best in the business

This is a grassy malt, which at 12 years also has heightened citric spray of sweet orange zest and a gingery aspect (it's great with ginger ale). Intense and vibrant with macadamia and a light heathery note, the palate confounds expecations, having a tick chewiness before the grass zings through, adding lift.

Dave Broom, 2013, Whisky Advocate Summer 2013, p.114

An enjoyable whisky which will do well as a summer drink.

Rob Allanson 2008, Whisky Magazine, Issue 73

Very fragrant, with vibrant fruit (nectarine, plum, guava, pineapple, clementine), honeyed vanilla, and subtle macadamia. Fairly light (a pre-dinner or leisurely afternoon malt, perhaps?), but evenly balanced. A gentle introduction to single malts for the blended scotch drinker.

John Hansell 2010, Malt Advocate Fall 2010, p.75

... this one really does the job, it won't offend anyone and actually please everyone.
